The Springboks, Wallabies and All Blacks have all named their squads for home mid-year Test series against Northern Hemisphere opponents.

The Springboks, on paper, have the easiest assignment against a struggling ‘B’ strength Wales side, although, as reported by The South African website, coach Jacques Nienaber was doing his utmost to talk up the Welsh as no easy foes.
Australia and New Zealand have far tougher assignments against England and Ireland, respectively.
The Springboks named a bloated squad of as many as 43 players, while the Wallabies picked 35 and the All Blacks 36.

While the Wallabies (Michael Hooper) and All Blacks (Sam Cane) named their captains, the Springboks for some reason did not make mention of Siya Kolisi retaining the armband – even if it’s also a certainty
As always, there were hard-luck stories and injuries across the board that forced coaches’ thinking and selections.
The Tests will take place on Saturdays 2, 9 and 16 July.
