The infamous Gold Coast mega mansion where Johnny Depp allegedly severed his finger and kept his illegally smuggled dogs has reportedly been sold for a record-breaking price.
Depp and his then wife Amber Heard stayed at the sprawling 18-hectare property in 2015 while he was filming the latest instalment in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.
The 10-bedroom, 10-bathroom estate, situated at 290 Colman Rd in picturesque Coomera, has been the spot of choice for A-listers over the years.
Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and Pink have all stayed at the home, which was rented out by its owner, motorcycling legend Mick Doohan.
The estate, known as Diamond Head, has been on the market since March of last year and has reportedly finally found a buyer.
The luxury home has been sold for $40m according to 9 News, the highest amount ever paid for a Queensland home.
It is a far cry from what Doohan originally paid when he bought the property for $1.7m in 1996.
The real estate agency involved, Amir Prestige, would not comment on the reported sale.
Highlights of the massive mansion include a gym, lift, wine cellar, home theatre and 500sq m man cave that comes with a bar and a six-car garage.
It boasts 628m of Coomera and Pimpama River frontage and a 400sq m space to store boats and helicopters.
It also comes with a private landing strip, marina and full kart track.
Depp and Heard’s tumultuous stay at the mansion was laid bare during the former couple’s high-profile defamation cases.
Depp alleged Heard threw a vodka bottle at him during their stay there that caused the top of his finger to be sliced off.
“She threw the large bottle and it made contact (with my hand) and shattered everywhere,” Depp testified.
“Then I looked down and realised that my tip of my finger had been severed.”
Heard denied the allegation and claimed Depp injured his hand after he smashed a phone against the wall.
She alleged he shoved her into a ping-pong table and choked her against the fridge while they were staying at the property.
Depp allegedly wrote “I love u” on a mirror using the blood flowing from his severed fingertip.
He claimed the incident was caused by a heated argument over a postnuptial agreement that Heard had refused to sign.
In his rage he allegedly caused about $200,000 worth of damage to the estate.
Depp wrote on walls throughout the property, while he allegedly also urinated on the floor and painted a fake penis on a picture of a woman.
House manager Ben King testified earlier this year that “nothing was really intact” throughout the home following the incident.
Mr King said a “big chunk had been taken out of the marble staircase”, there was a “collapsed” ping-pong table, and “remnants of a coffee cup was embedded” in a wall-mounted TV.
Diamond Head was also where the then couple’s two Yorkshire terriers Pistol and Boo stayed when they were illegally smuggled into the country after not being declared at customs.
Heard pleaded guilty to falsifying quarantine documents, citing a lack of sleep and exhaustion.
She received a $1000 one-month good behaviour bond, while both actors also appeared in a heavily scripted apology video.
