Herald Sun Senior Columnist Patrick Carlyon says Energy Minister Chris Bowen has “shot himself in the foot” with Labor’s nuclear modelling claims.
Mr Bowen on Monday released government modelling on nuclear power, claiming it would cost taxpayers $387 billion to replace retiring coal-fired power into nuclear small modular reactors.
“He really did shoot himself in the foot by pulling out these numbers that at best were so easy to dispute,” Mr Carlyon told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
“Look, he’s based a lot of policies on dreams rather than reality.
“Nuclear has to be on the table.
“And I think Bown is really losing the crowd by not accepting that or at least not recognising that.”
