Aaron Judge has made history. The slugging outfielder now owns the record for most home runs by a Yankee, surpassing Roger Maris’ American League record of 61 with his 62nd home run on Tuesday against the Rangers.

No. 62, Oct. 4

With his 62nd round-tripper, Judge swung his way into the Yankees’ record books, passing Maris after taking Rangers pitcher Jesus Tinoco deep to left field in the penultimate game of the regular season in Arlington, Texas.

No. 61, Sept. 28

Judge tied Maris in the series finale against the Blue Jays in Toronto and moved within one of the Yankees’ record for most homers in a single season, a shot to left field that was just beyond the reach of two Blue Jays fans, landing in the bullpen.

No. 60, Sept. 20

Judge inched within one homer of the record with his solo homer in the ninth inning against the Pirates, jumpstarting a five-run frame that led to a dramatic victory. With the homer, Judge pulled even with Babe Ruth for second place on the team’s all-time single-season list and became just the sixth player in major league history to reach 60 homers.

Walk-off homer against Royals, July 28

With the Yankees in danger of dropping their third straight game and the offense languishing, Judge launched his third walk-off homer of the year for the game’s lone run in a 1-0 victory over the Royals. With one out, Judge drilled a first-pitch fastball from reliever Scott Barlow 431 feet away to center field.

No. 50, Aug. 29

Judge became just the 10th player in major league history with multiple 50-homer seasons when he went yard in the eighth inning of a 4-3 loss to the Angels. With his parents in attendance, the native Californian blasted a 434-foot shot off reliever Ryan Tepera. Before going deep, Judge was intentionally walked twice by the Angels.

Judge leads off a must-have game against the Rays with his league-leading 53rd homer, setting the tone for the sweep-avoiding win that pushes the Yankees’ AL East lead back to five games. Judge also scored his team’s other run in the 2-1 win.

Judge beats Blue Jays, May 10

Trailing by two runs in the ninth inning, Judge sends the Yankee Stadium crowd home happy with the first walk-off homer of his career, a three-run blast off Blue Jays closer Jordan Romano. It is his 10th homer in the team’s 29th game, 21 of which have been wins.

Judge became the second-fastest player in history to hit his 200th home run, doing it in his 671st game. Ryan Howard needed only 658 games to reach 200 long balls. Judge’s two-run shot in an 8-2 win over the Royals was his 42nd of the year.

In a potential ALCS preview, Judge caps the memorable four-game series against the Astros with a three-run, 10th-inning walk-off homer off right-hander Seth Martinez. It was the second time in three games that Judge drove in the game-winning run against the Astros.
